WaveSense is radically accelerating the arrival of self-driving vehicles by tackling some of the most challenging problems that stand in the way of safe and reliable navigation.

Every road in the world has a unique subsurface signature. WaveSense uses radar to create a map of those subsurface signatures from which self-driving cars can navigate. Vehicles using WaveSense are unaffected by common but challenging road conditions like snow, heavy rain, fog, or poor lane markings.

We're looking for technically savvy person to support our customer and partner engagements. This role involves working with our engineers to demonstrate, integrate and evaluate our systems with potential customers, and development partners. You will work on the road, at our lab in Somerville or at various sites around the country and the world. You will operate in various environmental and road conditions, demonstrating and showcasing system performance.  


This is an important and visible role, you will travel to demonstrate, integrate and prove out our system to potential customers and other partners. Some engagements will take hours and some will take weeks, but you will be the face of the company.



  • Sharp and engaged in front of customers and business partners

  • Solid technical depth and good communications skills to understand and explain our radar system

  • Low ego: you take your work seriously but can laugh at yourself 

  • Enjoy working with small, high output teams in a fast paced startup environment

  • Safe, responsible, capable driver.

  • A “get-it-done” person. You know that done is better than perfect and are energized by constantly delivering and moving things forward.



  • 4 years experience in a technical role

  • 2 year degree or similar technical training 

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills

  • Valid drivers license and safe driving history

  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer and partner sites

  • Skills operating complex electronic hardware, software and mechanical products

  • Mechanical aptitude to install our radar system on vehicles


  • Bachelors degree in a technical field 

  • Experience using basic test and measurement, tools, devices and techniques

  • Experience with RF electronic products

  • Experience interfacing with command line software and scripting languages
